Modern Salon - Balayage For A Perfect Rooty Blonde

Kelly Massias (@kellymassiashair) of Lift Hair, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, says her natural level 7-8 client was ready for an update. "She came in with a 4 month old grown out balayage" looking for more of a punch.

Below Massias shares the how-to:

Step 1: Balayage using Schwarzkopf Blondme and 30 volume starting in the front, working to the back. Paint V's and W's with a Framar brush feathering right to the root, "being careful not to overlap on existing blonde." Separate with cotton to separate sections. Process for 30 minutes.

Step 2: Rinse and shampoo using UNITE Blonda, letting shampoo sit on hair while mixing toner.

Step 3: Tone the root, starting in the back, using Schwarzkopf Igora Royal 20g 8-4 , 10g 9,5-1, 7 volume.

Step 4: Tone the mids and ends using Redken Shades EQ 10g 9v, 10g 9t , 20g Clear.

Step 5: Process for 10 minutes and rinse. Style using 1 1/4 inch Hot Tools iron.
